GMC Acadia vs Chevy Equinox Safety Features

One of the most important elements of your adventure vehicle is its safety. With the features and technologies included in both the 2021 GMC Acadia and 2022 Chevy Equinox, you’ll be able to confidently take on the road, whether it’s an expansive highway or unpredictable dirt road.

Within both SUVs, you’ll find similar available safety technologies, such as:

When it comes to cabin interiors, the GMC Acadia and Chevy Equinox have several similarities, but ultimately, the Acadia takes the cake with its expansive suite of amenities.

To start, the GMC Acadia can accommodate up to seven passengers, while the Equinox limits you to five. In addition, the Acadia comes standard with tri-zone automatic climate control with rear climate controls to comfortably heat up or cool down passengers in all rows.

While the Chevy Equinox allows you to choose from many of the same available amenities as the GMC Acadia, it does not include all of them as standard as the Acadia does. This is especially true of each model’s highest trims.

For instance, the Acadia’s highest trim, the Denali, comes standard with the following features:

• Heated and ventilated driver and front passenger seats
• Heated rear outboard seats
• 8-inch infotainment system with navigation
• Bose® premium 8-speaker audio system

The Equinox does offer comparable conveniences on its Premier trim; however, they must be added as they are not standard.  

GMC Acadia vs Chevy Equinox Power and Performance

Engineering power and performance are what make SUVs perfect for family camping trips. However, you’ll be better off with the GMC Acadia and its three available engines over the singular engine of the Equinox:

• 2.5L 4-cylinder engine with 193 horsepower and 188 lb-ft of torque
• 2.0L Turbo 4-cylinder engine with 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque
• 3.6L V6 engine with 310 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque

In comparison, the Equinox comes standard with a 1.5L Turbo 4-cylinder engine that can achieve up to 170 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque. Even the Acadia’s base engine beats out this engine’s horsepower.
