Standard Safety on the Acadia vs Traverse

You can feel safe in either SUV with their numerous active safety and driver-assistance features. However, the Acadia includes more standard features than the Traverse. For example, on the GMC you will have the following standard starting on the base trim:

• An HD Rear Vision Camera
• Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert
• Rear Cross Traffic Alert
• Rear Park Assist

With the Traverse, in contrast, the only comparable standard safety feature is the Rear Vision Camera. If you want any of the other safety features, you will have to upgrade to a higher trim.

GMC Acadia vs Chevy Traverse Infotainment

There are many similar entertainment technologies within both vehicles. For example, you will find a Bose® premium sound system available on certain trims for both SUVs. However, on the Acadia, it is available starting with the second trim and standard on all proceeding trims. In contrast, the Traverse only begins including this sound system starting on the RS trim, halfway through the lineup.

Additionally, both SUVs are equipped with an intuitive touchscreen infotainment system. On the 2021 GMC Acadia, the 8-inch screen is standard. On the Chevy Traverse, you’ll have to settle for a standard 7-inch screen unless you upgrade to the RS trim or above.
