Engine Power

To effectively tackle uncharted territory, your SUV needs to have a strong and capable engine. Fortunately, both the 2021 GMC Acadia and Honda Pilot come equipped with the right engines for the job.

However, the Pilot only comes with one engine while with the Acadia, you can select from three unique options:

Engine

Horsepower

Torque

2.5L 4-cylinder

193 HP

188 lb-ft

2.0L 4-cylinder turbo

228 HP

258 lb-ft

3.6L V6

310 HP

271 lb-ft

The Honda Pilot is equipped with a 3.5L V6 engine that achieves 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. While this is adequate, it’s always nice to have options.

GMC Acadia Off RoadHelpful Off-Roading Features

Off-roading engineering features and technologies are available inside both the Honda Pilot and GMC Acadia. For one, both vehicles offer AWD for each of their trims so that you can optimally trek your preferred terrain. FWD is also an option on the Acadia while 2WD is available on the Pilot.

However, the GMC comes with a few extra features that enhance its ability to tackle the elements that you won’t find on the Honda. For example, the available Advanced Twin-Clutch AWD System optimally enhances stability and traction on the road automatically so that you can have a smooth and safe ride no matter what terrain you’re on.

Easy-to-Use Infotainment

GMC Acadia TechBoth the GMC Acadia and Honda Pilot are filled with intuitive and helpful infotainment systems that allow you to stay connected wherever you go. For instance, both offer:

  • An 8-inch infotainment touchscreen display
  • Wireless charging for cell phones
  • Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration

However, the Acadia offers many more features as standard starting on its base trim than the Pilot does. For example, 4G LTE Wi-Fi® hotspot capability is included as standard starting at the base trim on the Acadia, but to get the same feature on the Pilot, you’ll need to upgrade to a much higher trim.

The same is true for navigation systems. The Acadia offers a navigation system starting on its second trim, the SLE, and includes it as standard in all following trims. On the Pilot, on the other hand, you can only get an embedded navigation system starting on the Touring trim, which is a much higher trim.
