Yukon XL vs Ford Expedition

The Yukon XL can accommodate up to nine riders if you choose the right trim. With the Ford, seating maxes out at eight people. Now, we’ll look at the cabin dimensions for the front row of each car.

Some dimensions do come close. For this chart, we used the Ford Expedition MAX, which extends a little farther than the traditional Ford Expedition. However, it still doesn’t exceed the measurements in the first row when compared to the Yukon XL.

When you’re looking for the most cargo space, especially if you’re moving a couch or ferrying your student off to college, you want the maximum. Welcome to the GMC, which provides a total of 144.7 cubic feet of cargo space when you place every row down but the first one.

The Ford stops at a maximum of 121.5 cubic feet of cargo space, which is significantly lower than what the GMC offers.

With state-of-the-art tech, your GMC will feel modern to any tech fan. Your phone can play a strong part in making it feel that way with standard wireless Apple CarPlay® or Android Auto™. This eliminates the wires that make a messy cabin. You can also have the convenience of wireless charging on board.

While the Ford does offer all three smartphone features, not every trim gives them to you. You’ll have to upgrade to higher trims for integration without the wires as well as a wireless charging pad.

A 15-inch Head-Up Display can be added to the GMC to get a snapshot of your speed, engaged safety systems, and the fuel left in the tank. It appears right on your windshield, so your eyes never leave the road. The Ford does not offer the display, even though it may have in previous model years.

For a conveyance as large as these machines, it’s important to get the most visibility you can. Luckily, in the GMC, the HD Rear Vision Camera can be outfitted with the available High-Definition Surround Vision. It offers 13 separate camera views.

In the Ford, your camera upgrade is the 360-Degree Camera with a Split View. Although it provides clear visibility, two views just cannot compete with the double digits in the Yukon XL.

Some unique yet helpful safety systems can come in the GMC that do not appear in the Ford. The Teen Driver system lets you corral your young motorist with monitoring and pre-set parameters for some systems.

A Safety Alert Seat can warn you about potential collisions in your path. Depending on the direction, vibrating pulses emit from the left, right, or all sides of the seat. You’ll know ahead of time to slow down or carefully navigate around the trouble.
