The Encore GX and the Trailblazer come standard with an ECOTEC 1.2L Turbo engine that produces 137 horsepower (HP) and offer the choice of front-wheel drive (FWD) or available all-wheel drive (AWD). If you’re looking for more muscle, both offer a 1.3L Turbo engine that generates 155 HP.

Each SUV is built to keep you in control, whether you're navigating city streets or heading out on a weekend adventure. Only the Encore GX includes standard StabiliTrak® , an electronic stability and traction system. It activates automatically to help you maintain control, especially in sudden situations, by adjusting the brakes and engine power to keep you on track.

Effortless Efficiency

Everyone appreciates great fuel economy—it means fewer stops and more time enjoying the drive. In their FWD configurations, both models deliver an EPA-estimated 30 city/31 highway MPG rating. Helping maximize efficiency is the standard?stop/start system: When you come to a complete stop, the engine shuts off to save fuel, then seamlessly restarts when you lift your foot off the brake.

To squeeze even more out of every mile, both models feature a Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT). Unlike traditional automatic transmissions with fixed gear ratios, the CVT smoothly adjusts to keep the engine operating at its most efficient RPM, using less fuel compared to systems that shift or rev higher.

The Buick leads the way in standard safety, starting with one feature that the Chevrolet doesn’t even offer as an upgrade: Rear Seat Reminder. This helpful system ensures you don't accidentally leave something—or, more importantly, someone—behind when you reach your destination.

While both SUVs keep an eye on what’s ahead, it's just as important to stay aware of what's behind your vehicle. The Encore GX takes safety a step further with standard Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone. When you signal to change lanes, this system gives you a visual warning if there’s traffic in your blind spot. This safety feature is standard on the Encore GX, while a similar feature is only available on the Trailblazer.

Cabin Comfort

The Encore GX and the Trailblazer share a similar cabin layout with each providing comparable passenger and cargo space, including over 39 inches of front headroom and 40.9 inches of front legroom. That means there will be plenty of room for everyone on board to stretch out and have enough space to store their gear.

Likewise, they offer many of the same standard and available features designed to make your drive more comfortable, including:

Heated power outside mirrors come standard on the Encore GX, quickly clearing away condensation and fog for a consistently clear view. They’re available on the Trailblazer, but only on select trims. Additionally, available leather seats are exclusive to the Buick; the Chevy doesn't offer them at all.

The Encore GX and the Trailblazer offer similar tech features that keep you connected, informed, and entertained on the go. Standard features include:
