Drive Home With Dinner: Find the Best Pizza in Columbus, OH

Hounddog’s Pizza

If you’re craving a special pie, hop in your spacious, cinnabar metallic Envision and pick up a pizza at Hounddog’s Pizza. This cozy storefront is just one mile from Ohio State and offers fantastic classic pizza with huge slices. Hounddog’s also serves up tasty appetizers, like lasagna bites, twice-baked skins, chicken wings, and more.

If you’ve got an appetite, try the incredible bacon cheeseburger pizza, topped with beef, bacon, onions, and cheddar cheese! Or indulge in their signature breakfast pizza with queso, cheddar cheese, sausage, and scrambled eggs. Hounddog’s is open seven days a week for dine-in, curbside pickup orders, and delivery.

Borgata Pizza Cafe

We’re not sure how they do it, but the folks at Borgata Pizza Cafe have perfected the art of serving up NY-style pies that are big on size and flavor. Whether you want a sit-down dinner or takeout, Borgata has a full menu of excellent selections. They make all of their dough and pasta in-house, so you’re guaranteed incredible texture and flavor. This full-service New York-style pizzeria and Italian restaurant is located at 5701 Parkville St. in Columbus and is open seven days a week.

Consider starting with an appetizer like their house-made meatballs, Caprese salad, spicy stuffed peppers, or wings. We love their Mediterranean roasted vegetable pizza with roasted eggplant, zucchini, caramelized onions, mozzarella cheese, and peppers. If you’re looking for something different, try their three-cheese white pizza with ricotta, mozzarella & feta.

The Pizza House

The Pizza House is a real gem—a Columbus diner that’s been open since 1961, offering square cut, thick crust pizza with loads of fresh toppings and big portions. Their All The Way pizza with provolone cheese, pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushroom, and onion is excellent, and they have salad and wings on the side.

If you’re feeling adventurous, try the White Special: a pizza with homemade white sauce, chicken breast meat, and provolone cheese on top of tomatoes. You won’t be disappointed!

GoreMade Pizza

GoreMade pizza serves a phenomenal thin-crust Neapolitan pie baked in a wood-fired oven with loads of fresh and organic toppings. Many of their ingredients are sourced locally, and they have a unique seasonal menu. They have a great selection of pizzas, and their appetizers include salads and cheesy garlic bread.

My favorite pizza at GoreMade is the Annie Social—it’s got bacon, red onion, feta cheese, and an olive oil base. The dough is light and fluffy with just the right amount of chewiness. The toppings are fresh-tasting and flavorful but not overpowering. GoreMade is located at 946 N. 4th St. in Columbus.
